تعزيزا لروابط الصداقة والتعاون بين حكومتي مصر واليابان ، وفي إطار ما يوليه البلدان من أولوية للمشروعات التي تخدم أهداف التنمية الزراعية بما يتماشى واستراتيجيات وخطط التنمية المصرية ، وقعت السيدة / فايزة أبو النجا وزيرة التعاون الدولي والسيد / كاورو إيشيكاوا السفير الياباني بالقاهرة على الخطابات المتبادلة التي تتيح بمقتضاها الحكومة اليابانية منحة قدرها 792 مليون ين يابانى ( حوالي 40 مليون جنيه مصري) لتنفيذ مشروع تحديث محطة الزراعة الآلية بدمنهور ? وعلى جانب أخر استعرضت السيدة الوزيرة أهم التطورات الخاصة بمشروع من أهم المشروعات المستقبلية والتي يوليها الجانبان المصري والياباني أهمية خاصة فى مشاوراتهما الحالية هو مشروع الجامعة المصرية اليابانية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا E-JUST والذى سيمول من برنامج المنح اليابانية ، حيث يرتكز الاهتمام المصري بالمشروع على كونه مركز تميز مصري على أعلى مستوى يرتبط بخطط التنمية المستهدفة للنهوض بوضع التعليم الجامعي ورفع مستويات البحث العلمي فى مصر لتصل إلى المستويات العالمية من ناحية ، والتطلع إلى ما يمكن أن يتحقق من نقل المعرفة والتكنولوجيا اليابانية المتطورة ? هذا وقد دخل المشروع مراحله النهائية خاصة بعد الزيارة التي قام بها رئيس الوزراء الياباني السيد شينزو آبي إلى مصر فى مايو الماضي ، ومباحثات القمة التي أجراها مع السيد رئيس الجمهورية وكذلك مع السيد رئيس الوزراء ، حيث ذكر رئيس الوزراء الياباني أن بلاده ستعمل قدر جهدها على تقديم التكنولوجيا والخبرة التي تخدم أهداف إنشاء الجامعة .
